Responsibilities
Manage and inspire a diverse project team in a virtual/remote work environment.
Participate in on-campus activities such as tours, job shadowing, and in-person meetings as needed.
Utilize expertise from ERP implementations to solve technical, resource, and business problems.
Collaborate with business owners and ORIS/Research Systems Support Managers to define system scope and objectives.
Develop and manage project plans and key project management artifacts in coordination with vendors.
Work with subject matter experts to align technology solutions and change management efforts with business strategies.
Serve as the UMN-side project manager, coordinating with vendor PMs, managing tasks, risks, and progress, and communicating with stakeholders.
Lead documentation of functional/technical system specifications.
Ensure reporting requirements meet operational and analytical needs, including dashboards and KPIs.
Collaborate with vendors and data services teams to bridge gaps between vendor-delivered reports and reporting needs.
Plan the transition of critical data from legacy systems for reporting and analysis.
Provide technical training and guidance to support staff.
Ensure excellent customer service by incorporating user feedback, identifying training needs, and improving communication.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and policy-driven requirements.
Develop knowledge of RIO business units, enterprise research technology systems, and UMN technology infrastructure.
Prepare for the transition to operations post go-live.
Support quality assurance efforts by developing and executing test plans and documenting test results.
Coordinate the retirement of historical systems.
Identify and address SaaS solution gaps with ORIS managers.
Evaluate issue patterns and recommend process improvements.
Communicate technology issues effectively to staff, faculty, and administrators.

Required
BA/BS degree with at least 4 years of IT Project Management experience, or a master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience
Experience managing IT implementation, operations, and upgrade projects
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodology
Experience with business analysis, functional/technical requirements, process mapping, quality assurance, and change management
Preferred
Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent)
Experience with commercial SaaS software implementations
Experience leading multi-year ERP projects with budgets over $2 million
Experience in research, sponsored projects, and/or higher education
Familiarity with data regulated by federal, state, or local laws
UI/UX, database querying, or data analysis experience
Quality assurance experience, including writing and executing test scripts
Familiarity with waterfall, Agile, and/or Scaled Agile methodologies
