Responsibilities
Participates significantly in designing, developing, and testing Department's products for the purpose of improving their productivity and replacing obsolete technology.
Performs system design, software engineering and application systems support for SLS that includes troubleshooting, fault isolation and problem resolution in support of the Department's products.
Collaborates and coordinates with DOS offices responsible for implementation of security regulations and standards.
Acts as Asset Manager for SLS in managing and coordinating control of Division assets through utilization of the ILMS Asset Management module.
Acts as primary information system security officer, implementing Departmental information systems security policies and guidelines, and ensures that applications, networks, hardware and other resources are maintained at acceptable levels of risk.

Required
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:
Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication - briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide several potential solutions.
Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Experience designing, developing, and conducting system testing in a secure environment.
Experience evaluating new IT systems technologies to improve their productivity and replace obsolete technologies throughout an agency.
Experience planning, coordinating, and executing the development, testing, implementation, evaluation, and security management of new IT systems.
Experience managing, developing, and delivering high-performance projects that utilize the framework of Agile.
In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
