Responsibilities

Support network connectivity in accordance with VA architecture standards

Use working knowledge of AWS, TCP/IP, networking, firewalls, load balancers, switches, routers, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, QoS, DNS, SMTP, and HTTPS

Maintain network access between VA and cloud hosted solution environments including VPNs, routers, and other related devices

Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues

Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected

Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks

Identify and solve problems that arise with networks and Systems

Work with IT support personnel

Able to obtain Public Trust

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

5 years relevant experience

Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure (i.e., hardware, networking, software)

Proficient in operating systems (Linux, Windows Server, UNIX)

Proficient in Database Management Systems (DBMS)

Experience building and deploying IT environments (e.g., development, quality assurance environments or other tiered environments)

Knowledge of network infrastructure protocols (e.g., IP, http, etc.)

Knowledge of network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Must be able to achieve a moderate (Tier 2) VA position of trust.
