Responsibilities
Perform diversified visual and dimensional inspection operations on a variety of vendor supplied and in-plant produced parts and assemblies.
Follow general instructions, complex drawings, machine manuals, and standard inspection methods.
Inspect parts and assemblies before, during, and after release for overhaul and repair operations.
Determine proper inspection methods, select measuring instruments, and make necessary computations.
Plan and perform standard surface plate layouts, dimensionally check various parameters, and utilize measuring instruments.
Utilize coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for inspection operations.
Perform complex set-ups under the guidance of a senior operator.
Check parts for various defects, material properties, finish, and other specifications.
Prepare inspection reports and complete all necessary paperwork.
Perform other related duties consistent with parts inspection as directed.
Refer unusual conditions, discrepancies, or problems to senior personnel.
Contribute to equipment effectiveness by performing required upkeep.
Follow environmental health and safety regulations, segregate waste material, and maintain good housekeeping practices.

Required
Experience in visual and dimensional inspection operations on machined parts
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, manuals, and operation sheets
Knowledge of standard inspection methods and procedures
Experience in inspecting parts before, during, and after release for overhaul and repair operations
Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, height gage, dial indicators, etc.
Experience in utilizing coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for inspection operations
Ability to perform complex set-ups under guidance
Attention to detail in checking parts for various defects and irregularities
Capability to prepare inspection reports and complete necessary paperwork
Compliance with environmental health and safety regulations
