Responsibilities

Investigate complaints concerning illegal weights and measures practices

Conduct field tests of various weighing and measuring devices

Inspect pre-packaged meats and other commodities

Enforce state and county laws related to weights and measures by issuing warnings and citations

Take samples of gasoline and other petroleum products

Answer questions from the public related to weights and measures

Assist with calibrating field standards and provide on-the-job training

Write daily inspection reports and investigative reports as required by law
