Responsibilities
Investigate and implement optimization projects improving technology in stamping through simulation and new equipment selection
Regularly travel to meet with facility leadership to develop and support installation and rearrangement projects
Collaborate to continuously improve standards aligned with the Bill of Equipment (BoE), Bill of Operations (BoO), Bill of Containers (BoC), Bill of Facilities (BoF), and (BoL) Bill of Layout
Collaborate with suppliers, plant personnel, and others to implement cost reduction, methods, and manufacturing improvements
Investigate new technology and competitive products to be implemented in stamping
Prepare specifications and cost estimates for new equipment
Provide support during equipment installation and projects
Lead stamping plant continuous improvement activities
Multitask by handling multiple assignments concurrently

Required
Work experience related to sheet metal stamping manufacturing – including, but not limited to equipment installation, maintenance, tools, material flow, labor contracts, die construction, and stamping facility infrastructure
Bachelor's degree
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex subjects to a wider audience
Ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative, and be self-directed
Experience in coordinating design & construction activities, preferably in automotive manufacturing facilities, including managing budget constraints and varying production schedules
Basic understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Master’s degree – technical or MBA
Applicable Journeymen’s Card with related manufacturing experience
Planning or Integration experience
Understanding of GM Financial processes and GM Financial investment classifications
Ability to use CAD systems (i.e. AutoCAD, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, etc.)
