Responsibilities
Scrape big data sets from open sources and standardize data (including data which may be in foreign languages)
Create impactful visualizations (charts, graphs and tables) to enhance intelligence and investigative reports
Interpret, analyze and provide insight regarding findings and identifiable trends in reports
Create clear, concise and well-documented reports which represent the steps taken, the data sources reviewed, and the conclusions drawn from the evaluation of the information
Conduct in-depth investigative research on individuals, corporate entities, and issues utilizing a wide range of open sources, including media; criminal, civil, and bankruptcy proceedings; SEC and other regulatory filings; company registrations; real property records; online and subscription databases, including records and data sources in foreign jurisdictions
Conduct bespoke research and investigation for clients based on your knowledge of available data and records and the clients’ end goals. There is often no specific standard operating procedure nor report template. Your experience and knowledge guides your investigation
Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized records
Follow standard operating procedures as required for certain projects
Other duties as required

Required
Demonstrated experience scraping public data from disparate sources and standardizing large data sets for analysis
Demonstrated experience with basic data visualization through charts, plots, and infographics
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions required (ability to create and use pivot tables, charts, and graphs, advanced formulas, data sorting, etc.)
Demonstrated experience conducting open source research (including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and Internet sources, such as social media/networking tools, and commercial databases.)
Demonstrated knowledge of OSINT tools and resources (such as image analysis, meta data, web history, mapping tools, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of directly related experience
Ability to think critically and creatively
Ability to write objectively, accurately and concisely
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Strong English language writing skills
Ability to work independently, and deliver high quality work under time pressure
Superb time management skills (ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects concurrently, set/reset priorities and meet tight deadlines)
Preferred
Foreign language skills preferred. Russian or Chinese are highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience applying foreign language research methodologies and machine language translation methods
Experience with SQL, Python, and/or Jupyter Notebooks
