Responsibilities

Coordinate a diverse, multi-disciplinary team performing complex risk assessments for the purpose of evaluating the performance of USACE infrastructure projects.
Plan, coordinate, review and perform the more complex, controversial or theoretically demanding work.
Maintain a high level of expertise regarding professional methods of analysis and design criteria, with particular emphasis on the methods and criteria utilized by the Corps of Engineers.
Prepare formal or informal plans of study for accomplishment of major evaluations or designs.
Conduct site investigations to assist in preliminary and final site selection and to plan subsurface exploration programs.
Utilize professional observation and analysis expertise during and after project construction.
Serve on various project design and period inspection teams as a technical member and point of contact.
Facilitate and provide technical oversight for risk assessments on dams/levees.

Required

Must possess and maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) License.
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering or geology.
One year of specialized experience which includes implementing various remediation concepts pertinent to the modification of flood damage reduction embankments and concrete gravity structures; dam and levee safety modification contracting methods, procedures, monitoring, quality, and documentation, as related to accomplishment of risk evaluation.
Current Department of Army Civilian Employees, Current Department of Defense (DOD) Civilian Employee (non-Army), Domestic Defense Industrial Base/Major Range and Test Facilities Base Civilian Personnel Workforce, Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan, Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act, Military Spouses, under Executive Order (E.O.) 13473, Non-Department of Defense (DoD) Transfer, Priority Placement Program, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Eligible, Priority Placement Program, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) Eligible, Priority Placement Program, DoD MR and NG Preference Eligible Tech Receiving Disability Retirement, Priority Placement Program, DoD Retained Grade Preference Eligible, Reinstatement, Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) of 1998 eligibility.
