Responsibilities

Prepare preliminary engineering designs, drawings, and cost estimates for transmission lines.
Perform engineering studies and calculations related to transmission line components and phenomena.
Provide technical support to Customer Service Regional maintenance offices for transmission line equipment.
Review and prepare design and construction schedules, engineering designs, and specifications for transmission lines.
Review purchase requests, equipment recommendations, designs, and bills of materials for transmission line equipment and materials.
Provide technical direction, guidance, and review work of other employees as assigned.

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
Participates in the e-Verify program
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must wear Arc Rated protective clothing when in proximity to exposed energized circuits
Ability to operate a Government vehicle
Must be at least 18 years of age
Able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification
Have a valid state driver's license
Transcripts MUST be provided
Meet one of the basic education qualifications
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-11] in the Federal service
Experience in preliminary planning, engineering designs, drawings, cost estimates, and technical specifications for transmission lines using PLS-CADD
