Responsibilities
Plan, administer, and coordinate the development of plans, specifications, and estimates for construction projects.
Prepare government cost estimates to establish design fund requirements and negotiate A-E contracts.
Determine site adequacy and basic design requirements through consultations and surveys.
Evaluate alternate sites and recommend the most economical and feasible location.
Assure design compatibility with using agency requirements and engineering best practices.
Check progress and ensure follow-ups, controls, and problem resolutions are executed.
Obtain data, advise on technical solutions, and interpolate from inconclusive data for design criteria.

Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in architecture or in a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in the design management of projects as they relate to buildings and building systems, structural, utility systems, site design, or infrastructure; AND 2) Preparation of engineering reports, assessments, and plans and specifications as it relates to construction projects
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing design management process of projects of buildings and building systems, structural, utility systems, site design, or infrastructure; 2) Reviewing technical adequacy of engineering documents for compliance with specifications and requirements; AND 3) Preparation of engineering reports, assessments, and plans and specifications as it relates to construction projects
One year of specialized experience which includes 1) performing design management process of projects of buildings and building systems, structural, utility systems, site design, or infrastructure; AND 2) preparing engineering documents such as assessments, reports, plans and specifications for complex construction projects; AND 3) reviewing technical adequacy of engineering documents for compliance with specifications and requirements
