Responsibilities
Prepare quarterly and annual investment accounting and supporting workbooks for US GAAP financial statements as well as Statutory reporting.
Perform and continuously improve investment-related controls, including preparing relevant analytics, cash and par reconciliations and completing market value testing.
Preparation of tri-party reconciliation to verify the existence, accuracy and completeness between Clearwater analytics, State Deposit custodians and the respective third-party investment manager.
Prepare US GAAP and Statutory journal entries, account reconciliations and account certifications.
Complete month end closing procedures including analytical reviews of investment balances, unsettled trades, suspense accounts to support the accuracy of our financial statements
Ensure timely clearing of suspense activity, proper recognition of investment related transactions in the general ledger through partnership with Investment Accounting third-party service providers, client representatives and finance team
Assist in the preparation of Quarterly and Annual Statutory and GAAP financial statements and disclosures related to investments
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of investment results, including fair value measurements and impairment analysis.
Assist with the preparation of investment related management information, board reports and external presentations
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including NAIC guidelines, state insurance department requirements and internal policies.
Coordinate with external auditors during financial and regulatory audits
Implement and maintain strong internal controls over investment accounting processes.
Participate in the development and enhancement of investment accounting systems and processes as necessary
Provide support for special projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards and regulatory changes affecting investment accounting.

Required
Knowledge of the US STAT and GAAP accounting treatment for various investment categories and classifications
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and communication skills.
Proficiency in Clearwater (investment accounting software) and advanced skills in Excel
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in investment accounting, preferably within the insurance industry
Preferred
Possible occasional requirement to work from different office locations in US, to meet with colleagues as needed.
