Responsibilities
Achieves an efficient technical infrastructure, which includes appropriate tools to support production migrations.
Develops and supports Oracle databases, supports replication.
Monitors and optimizes Oracle database performance and capacity planning.
Troubleshoots database issues; maintain database systems availability and scalability.
Develops and optimizes database design for new applications.
Develops and maintains jobs for monitoring and reporting various aspects of system performance, resource utilization, and application usage.
Develops and maintains scripts for automating database deployments and updates.
Develops and maintains system and process documentation.
Performance tuning and troubleshooting complex issues.
Ensures creation of runbooks in the assembly, configuration and administration of the application database.
Enforces adherence to standards, policies, and procedures for managing databases.
Implements/manages Database User Security standards.
Subject Matter Expert for Oracle Infrastructure.

Required
Bachelors degree in MIS/IT, business administration, or related discipline.
Experience as an Oracle DBA working with Oracle 10g and 11g on RHEL 5 and RHEL 6.
Working knowledge of operating system internals (Shell scripting, monitoring, debugging) in Linux environments is required.
Must be competent with converting logical data models into high performance physical designs.
Experience with data dictionary/repository tools.
Participation in large projects/deployments that require understanding of software development life cycle.
Experience working with computer hardware and software installation/upgrading procedures.
Experience working with database and system maintenance procedures.
Experience with technology and implementation planning and cost estimating experience.
Experience with creation of deliverable templates and standards.
Experience working with database creation techniques and database management systems (DBMS) features.
Experience working with database performance tuning.
Experience with automated database migration techniques.
Experience with Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills, collaboration and influencing skills.
Strong organizational and technical skills.
Preferred
Certified Oracle DBA a plus.
Experience supporting Oracle Data Guard; RAC is a plus.
MySQL DBA experience a plus.
Experience with Oracle for Oracle Retail is highly desirable.
Experience with Agile development methodologies is highly desirable.
Experience with virtualization in continuous integration environment is highly desirable.
