Responsibilities

Perform routine analysis to include evaluation of hardware and software based on end user criteria.

Perform workflow analysis, design, development, testing, training, implementation, management and support of assigned application systems and/or projects.

Directly interacts with assigned department managers and senior level staff to provide automation services in support of department’s strategic and operational objectives.

Maintain system specification and technical documentation.

Act as liaison between Information Technology vendors and TGH.

Participate in and/or lead department and hospital task forces, focus groups and/or committees as assigned by their supervisor to meet the group objectives.

Develop and maintain retail pharmacy workflows and best practices within the PIS and EHR across the continuum of the patient’s care.

Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to understand and design system to account for legal and regulatory needs/changes.

Analyze and solution business problems and goals to continually improve outcomes, patient experience, gain operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Support automation and third party systems within pharmacy practice (dispensing robots, point of sale devices, IVR).

Involvement in new/ongoing build for niche pharmacy areas such as (but not limited to) Specialty Pharmacy, Meds to Beds, Medication Therapy Management.

System maintenance (including but not limited to cost updates, NDC maintenance management, custom compounds, ongoing system enhancements, decision support, system mappings).

Resolution of break/fix (on call rotation).

Required

High school or GED

Minimum of 2+ years information technology / applications experience including build, test, and support of job related applications or equivalent healthcare/health related experience

2+ years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting (hospital based is a plus)

Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification (or proficiency)

Analysis and problem solving skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Flexibility/adaptability

Ability to work and learn independently as well as collaboratively in a team

Excellent communication skills
