Responsibilities

Analyzes functional and technical requirements of proposed or existing IT systems to determine avenues of development or modification necessary to meet mission objectives.

Provide application software support to an assigned system through design, development, testing and implementation of new or modified applications software.

Identify system change requirements in order to develop new functions within an assigned application system or to maintain current production applications.

Prepares test data and assists with or conducts functional testing of programs to determine accuracy and functional capability.

Required

U.S. Citizenship or National

Suitable for Federal Employment

Registered for Selective Service (if applicable)

Favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment

Experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data

Experience maintaining relationships with customers and assessing current information technology needs

Experience briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems

Experience identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 in the federal service

Experience supporting all functions of the life cycle of IT software and systems including development, deployment, maintenance, testing, and participating in system requirement reviews

Experience using Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL) in a mainframe environment
