Responsibilities

Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline
Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, task scheduling, and risk management strategies
Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, status updates, and communications with project team members and stakeholders
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing issues or risks to keep projects on track
Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources
Collaborate among project team members, promoting a positive and productive work environment
Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, identify lessons learned, and implement process improvements
Serve as a liaison between IT teams, business units, and external vendors, ensuring alignment of project objectives with organizational goals
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other project team members, contributing to their professional development and growth within the organization

Required

Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time and within budget
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches
Ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets
Experience in risk management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide project team members towards successful project outcomes
Problem-solving skills to address challenges and adapt to changing project requirements
Knowledge of IT systems and technologies, with the ability to understand technical requirements and implications within project contexts
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory. Equivalent work experience may be considered
A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in project management, with a focus on IT projects. This experience should encompass all aspects of project lifecycle management
Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex IT projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
Experience in the justice or nonprofit sector is desirable, but candidates from other sectors with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage project scope, resources, and risks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and project team members
Knowledge of IT systems and technologies, including software development methodologies, infrastructure, and security considerations are essential

Preferred

Experience working in the justice or nonprofit sector, understanding the unique challenges and dynamics of these environments
Familiarity with specific project management tools or software platforms such as Microsoft Applications, SharePoint, or ClickUp
Advanced project management certifications such as PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) or PRINCE2
Knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies)
Experience managing remote or distributed project teams, leveraging virtual collaboration tools and techniques
Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, particularly in relation to project management considerations
Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or equivalent is advantageous but not essential
