Responsibilities

Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT resiliency and disaster recovery plans, ensuring the organization's critical systems and data are protected and recoverable in the event of an outage or disaster.
Perform risk assessments and business impact analysis (BIA) to identify potential vulnerabilities in the organization's IT infrastructure and services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and test IT continuity and recovery strategies, including backup, replication, and failover mechanisms.
Design, implement, and manage disaster recovery (DR) solutions and ensure they are aligned with business continuity objectives.
Coordinate and conduct regular testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to validate preparedness, identify gaps, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Monitor the health and performance of disaster recovery environments, ensuring systems are ready to be activated when needed.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for IT resiliency, disaster recovery procedures, and system recovery playbooks.
Provide recommendations for improvements to the organization's resiliency posture, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
Assist in defining recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO) for IT services and applications.
Track and report on resiliency and recovery metrics to ensure continuous improvement and readiness.
Participate in the development of incident response plans, ensuring IT continuity and disaster recovery plans are integrated into broader incident management procedures.
Conduct training and awareness programs to ensure that stakeholders are familiar with IT resiliency best practices and recovery procedures.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to IT resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Continuity, or a related field.
Experience in IT resiliency, disaster recovery, or business continuity planning.
Hands-on experience with disaster recovery tools, backup solutions, and high-availability technologies.
Experience in cloud-based resiliency solutions, including cloud backup and recovery, replication, and failover (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, databases, storage, and virtualized environments.
Understanding of industry standards and frameworks such as ITIL, ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, and COBIT for disaster recovery and business continuity.
Experience with creating and executing disaster recovery tests, drills, and simulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and determine appropriate recovery strategies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on documentation and process improvement.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Required Security clearance.

Preferred

Certification in Business Continuity (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, DRCP) or Disaster Recovery (e.g., DRI, CDCP, ITIL) is a plus.
Experience with automation and orchestration tools for disaster recovery, such as Veeam, Zerto, or Commvault.
Knowledge of security best practices in disaster recovery, including encryption, access control, and compliance.
Experience with virtual environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, or containerization technologies.
Federal Experience is a plus.
