Responsibilities
Develop, code, and maintain Java-based web applications.
Write complex SQL statements and queries to support application functionality.
Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues within applications.
Work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Ensure applications are optimized, scalable, and meet client requirements.

Required
Proficiency in using Java IDEs such as Rational Application Developer (RAD) 7.5 or above.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, with experience using design patterns such as Singleton, Factory, and DAO.
Understanding of MVC architecture for web applications.
Experience in developing batch jobs and web services.
Familiarity with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0; experience running WAS 8.0 in a SuSe Linux 11 (VMware) environment is a plus.
Proficiency in relational databases, with experience writing SQL queries in DB2 and Oracle.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a plus, aiding in effective collaboration and problem-solving.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years’ of development experience in Java 6.0 and J2EE application components including JSP, Custom Tag libraries, JavaScript, Session EJBs, JDBC, etc.
Relevant certifications (Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Java SE, Certified Java Programmer, or courses in specific Java frameworks, application servers (e.g., IBM WebSphere), or development methodologies.
Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, industry trends and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and as part of larger collaborative team.
