Junior DLP Cyber Analyst

Responsibilities
Assist in creating, configuring, and maintaining DLP policies in Microsoft Purview to prevent unauthorized access and data leakage of sensitive information.
Monitor and review DLP policy violations, ensuring proper investigation and resolution of incidents related to data loss.
Audit DLP policies regularly for compliance with the company’s data protection requirements and recommend improvements based on emerging threats.
Continuously monitor DLP alerts generated by Microsoft Purview to identify potential breaches or misuse of sensitive data, including personally identifiable information (PII), financial data, and intellectual property.
Analyze alert patterns and collaborate with senior analysts to mitigate data loss risks and prevent future incidents.
Assist in investigating DLP incidents, and documenting the scope, impact, and remediation efforts in collaboration with senior cybersecurity analysts.
Escalate critical DLP incidents to senior staff as needed and participate in incident post-mortems to improve response times and strategies.
Assist in configuring and managing data classification labels in Microsoft Purview for different types of sensitive information (e.g., PII, confidential business data).
Collaborate with business units to ensure accurate data classification across the organization, helping to enhance the effectiveness of DLP policies.
Prepare regular reports on DLP policy enforcement, incident trends, and remediation efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other data privacy laws.
Assist in audits of DLP systems and policies, ensuring that records are accurate and up-to-date for internal or external reviews.
Assist in developing and delivering user training on best practices for handling sensitive data, highlighting DLP policies, and how employees can avoid triggering DLP rules.
Respond to basic user queries related to DLP incidents and policies, escalating complex issues to senior analysts.
Work closely with other cybersecurity teams (such as SOC, SIEM, and incident response teams) to ensure integration of DLP monitoring with broader security frameworks.
Assist in implementing cross-team DLP processes, including coordinating with cloud, endpoint, and network security teams to enhance overall data protection strategies.
Assist in regularly testing DLP policies and configurations to ensure that they are functioning as intended.
Participate in simulations or tabletop exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of current DLP settings in responding to potential data exfiltration threats.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Analytics, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a DLP role.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Purview.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
