Responsibilities
Perform energy and water savings analysis for a variety of building asset classes, including multifamily residential, office, and industrial.
Track applications for federal, state, and local government energy efficiency rebates as well as utility specific incentives/programs.
Identify new, reliable data sources to integrate to the EcoSmart project evaluation process from business development through post-construction savings validation.
Execute on-site energy audits to investigate existing building systems and identify retrofit opportunities.
Assist in due diligence for prospective retrofit and development projects.
Support the internal engineering department process improvement initiatives, including district energy modeling and script writing in Python/Ruby for use in building energy modeling.
Evaluate envelope, mechanical system, electrical, plumbing, and renewable energy upgrades options for projects with energy and cost savings projections.
Utilize data visualization tools to validate modeled energy savings post-retrofit, interfacing with the ESS Energy Management Platform.
Other related projects and assignments as required.
Report to the Senior Sustainability Project Engineer.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field required.
Up to 2 years’ experience in an engineering position, including internships/co-ops.
Interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and renewable energy concepts as they relate to the built environment.
Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Travel within the US is required to perform the essential duties of the position
Preferred
Advanced data processing capabilities desired.
Experience or knowledge of energy modeling and building systems desired.
Experience or interest in using Python or Ruby to automate workflows.
