Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters in production and development environments.
Ensure the high availability, scalability, and performance of Kafka clusters, utilizing OpenShift and Kubernetes for orchestration.
Monitor Kafka clusters for performance, availability, and capacity, and proactively troubleshoot issues.
Implement and manage Kafka security best practices, including user authentication and authorization.
Work closely with development teams to ensure Kafka configurations align with application requirements.
Automate Kafka cluster provisioning, scaling, and management using Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to integrate Kafka with other data platforms and services.
Develop and maintain Kafka cluster documentation and operational playbooks.

Required
Extensive experience with Apache Kafka cluster management, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes container orchestration and management.
Experience with Kafka monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and performance tuning.
Knowledge of distributed systems and best practices for scaling and optimizing Kafka clusters.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized application environments.
Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, Helm).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
3+ years of experience as a Kafka Administrator or in a related role, preferably in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
Preferred
Experience with Kafka connectors and stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka Streams, KSQL).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm).
Understanding of Kafka Security (e.g., SSL, SASL, ACLs).
