Key Account Manager

Responsibilities
Manage sales territory as defined by NLM sales management
Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
Coordinate company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
Implement sales strategies including the growth of base sales by maximizing product inclusion rates and development of new products while generating sales through trade show leads, referrals, and cold calls
Manage and support external R&D projects while providing exemplary customer service and leading solution development efforts that best address customer needs and coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel
Educate clients on the latest product research
Assist in account data management, sales lead research, and sales strategy preparation including providing data and insights to internal partners for growth from product development projects
Prioritize and resolve issues that impact the customer, including shipping, invoicing, backorders, transportation and other issues
Search for opportunities to streamline work by driving efficiencies through process improvements or system enhancements

Required
Bachelor's degree required
Experience and understanding in the area of nutrition, food science, product applications, and functional ingredients
Ability to work remote while prioritizing workload and handling multiple tasks in an effective manner
Detail oriented, accurate and organized
Computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and sales management systems to handle customer leads and opportunities
Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with a variety of internal and external contacts, including cold calling
Ability to lead, manage, and focus cross functional teams
Project management skills
Ability to work extended work schedule which may include some night, weekend and early morning hours
Ability to travel to customer meetings, trade shows, and company meetings (estimated travel 25%)
Self-starter with the ability to solve problems creatively and quickly
Preferred
Food Science or related preferred
3+ years of food sales experience preferred
