Responsibilities

Serve as a technical focal point for one or more products, participating in interdisciplinary Product Control Boards (PCB).

Act as a communication channel between R&D, Product Management, Quality Management, and the customer’s installed base, with close interaction across global, cross-functional teams.

Provide troubleshooting guidance to Field Service teams by analyzing component and system-level issues, utilizing RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FTA (Failure Tree Analysis), and machine log-file assessments.

Create and maintain service documentation to explain corrective actions and diagnostic processes for service items.

Deliver training sessions for both internal and external personnel.

Conduct feasibility checks for SLM machine upgrade requests and assess risks for Technical Product Notifications.

Provide direct service support at customer sites, investigating and troubleshooting machine malfunctions and aligning with the escalation process.

Specialize in specific topics or problems, developing deep expertise to address complex technical issues.

Required

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in maintaining or operating laser powder bed fusion metal printers; direct experience with SLM Solutions machines is a plus.

Understanding of integrated opto-mechanical-electronic systems, laser systems, metallurgy, welding, or optics; experience with metal powder-based melting processes (SLM/LPBF) is highly advantageous.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Fluent in English; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus.

Willingness to travel at least 50%, including some international travel.

Proficiency in MS Office applications.
