Responsibilities
Performs advanced administrative, technical, and professional work overseeing the City’s Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program and overseeing land development.
Administers environmental policies and ensures construction plans comply with applicable ordinances and statutes.
Participates in the planning, design, and construction of a variety of public works and utility facilities.
Inspects projects for compliance with ordinance and code provisions.
Makes thorough recommendations on engineering problems and planning.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with City officials, associates, land developers, contractors, and the general public.
Presents technical information and communicates complete ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
Calculates complex cost reports.

Required
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to land development and infrastructure management
Ability to plan, lay out and direct the work of subordinates
Ability to inspect projects for compliance with ordinance and code provisions
Ability to perform difficult engineering computations and to make thorough recommendations on engineering problems and planning
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, associates, land developers, contractors and the general public
Skilled in the use of civil engineering instruments and equipment
Skilled in the use and application of computer-aided design software
Ability to present technical information and communicate complete ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to calculate complex cost reports
Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in civil engineering or related field
Extensive experience in civil engineering work
