Responsibilities

Responsible for the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects

Provide leadership for the other electrical engineers in the Power team

Work with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing workload forecasts, design schedules, and budgets for electrical engineering work activities

Function as the “Engineer of Record” on projects

Perform Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)

Provide technical support for business development activities such as developing proposals

Develop construction and equipment specifications

Support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning

Review engineering work performed by peers

Attend client meetings and conduct site field visits

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

A minimum of 8 years of relevant Transmission and Distribution engineering experience

Willingness to travel occasionally

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license

Able to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. as necessary

Experience supervising a team of electrical engineers

Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, PIP etc)

Prepared drawings, specifications, and calculations involved in at least two (2) major high voltage substation projects (detailed design)

Performed detailed QA/QC engineering deliverable reviews

Preferred

Strong written and verbal skills with an ability to lead engineering tasks

12+ years of relevant Transmission and Distribution engineering experience with at least five (5) years leading power engineering projects

Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish

Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience

Power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, Etap)

Renewables experience

Functioned as the “Engineer of Record” on at least two (2) projects

Experience working in collaborative 3D model environments (e.g. Navisworks)
