Responsibilities
Work closely with our core team members to develop efficient, maintainable pipelines capable of supporting a large, complex project with a wide range of needs within Unreal 5
Hire, train, and mentor junior and mid-level environment artists
Work with Directors, Tech Art and Engineering to develop best practices, technical guidelines, and performance metrics for the environment team
Work with Art Direction and engineering to support look development and technical shading standards
Document workflows and advocate best practices
Have knowledge of the latest industry’s technological developments and research innovative solutions to apply them to the projects
Work with the Design team to ensure game flow is optimal around assets

Required
5+ years of experience in game development generating environments
Shipped at least one AAA product as a Lead Environment Artist
Passionate about learning and implementing new tools and technology (PCG, Lumen, Nanite, Substate, etc)
Highly Proficient in 3DS Max or Maya, Zbrush, and the high poly to textured low poly pipeline
Experience working with PBR and Substance Suite
Experience working with terrain and terrain textures
Understanding of memory/CPU constraints and how they affect asset creation, lighting, and level layout
Technical understanding of lighting and composition in an environment
Preferred
Technical Unreal Experience (Blueprints and/or Python API, Niagara, Materials, etc)
Experience working with outside vendors, vetting, providing feedback, building, and maintaining a set of asset creation guides and best practices
