Lead Information Architect (DITA, DTD, XSD, XSL/XSLT)

Responsibilities
Create the information architecture for our content to enable use and re-use.
Design and implement information maps and models that integrate content into the overall structure to improve its semantic value.
Organize and create efficient metadata models, taxonomy namespaces, and search schemas
Design ongoing DTD and schema development
Work with teams to build and architect new CCMS and CMS based solutions
Collaborate efficiently with teammates to identify and resolve problems
Work with IT on system architecture for structured content, content security, performance, and analytics
Recommend modifications to content workflows and operations where appropriate, to improve content models and structures and collaborate to implement those modifications.
Design and develop procedures and practices used by information architects and authors to manage and troubleshoot DITA XML content transformation and publishing items

Required
A bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience with content management and/or information architecture
Deep understanding of XML and the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) standard and development of specializations and constraints using DTDs and XSDs.
Knowledge of XML languages, such as XPath and XSL and Schematron and other related XML applications, for optimizing content processing, reporting, transformations, and refactoring using Oxygen XML Editor.
Experience with CCMS tools that support DITA, especially RWS Tridion Docs. Strong problem-solving skills to address content management challenges and optimize workflows.
Ability to organize publications and manage content for authoring processes using structured authoring principles and best practices of single-sourcing, content reuse, and content chunking for tools like Oxygen XML Author and Tridion Docs Collective Spaces.
Expertise in content architecture including analyzing and developing mapping, planning, and tools strategies, including understanding of content hierarchy, defining taxonomies, and metadata for XML schemas and related CMS schemas.
Understanding of content design and output processing, including DITA Open Toolkit, HTML, and Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server.
Knowledge of best practices for content management, such as workflows and versions, of technical documentation, including terminology, linking, and media management.
Understanding of content strategy and how to align documentation efforts with business goals and content governance to ensure that all content structure, architecture, outputs, and workflows are designed, developed, tested, and implemented in alignment with the company-wide strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including writers, developers, and project managers to govern, develop and maintain content authoring processes, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
Ability to influence and work with others to gain support for team initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to balance aspirational architecture goals with near-term deliverables and advise managers regarding options to support MVP decision making and meet roadmap milestones
