Responsibilities
Collaborate with our Chief AI Science Officer to design, test, and validate robust mathematical models for student learning and skills assessments. These models will drive fair and data-driven evaluations of student competencies.
Contribute to developing decision intelligence frameworks that underpin LC’s collaborative learning environment, ensuring alignment with educational best practices.
Assist in developing NLP-based tools that enhance the LC platform by generating personalized project suggestions, mentor recommendations, and real-time feedback to improve student learning outcomes.
Write and publish high-quality research papers in leading academic journals, covering both skills assessment methodologies and AI/NLP tools. Present findings at conferences to enhance the platform's academic and industry impact.
Work alongside LC’s interdisciplinary team of educators, data scientists, and platform developers, contributing to a collaborative research environment that merges education, technology, and workforce development.
Provide research guidance to junior team members and contribute to the intellectual development of the broader LC research community.
Ensure that all decision intelligence and AI/NLP tools are designed and implemented in a way that promotes fairness, equity, and ethical use, particularly in serving underrepresented student populations.

Required
Ph.D. in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., decision science, educational technology, machine learning, cognitive science) awarded within the past seven years.
Proven research background in learning assessments, decision intelligence, or data analytics, with an emphasis on educational applications.
Experience in the development and implementation of NLP or AI tools, particularly for educational or collaborative platforms.
Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications, with demonstrated ability to communicate research effectively to both academic and industry audiences.
A deep passion for equitable education, with a commitment to creating inclusive learning environments that empower students from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
