Responsibilities

Lead product development: Head up the development of our Jugo video-based meetings platform, focusing on core functionality and user experience. Collaborate with product managers, designers, sales and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality output.
Integration strategy: Working alongside a technical consultant, develop and execute a roadmap and technical architecture to integrate Jugo with partner technologies, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams, Nvidia and more. Turn concepts and requirements into highly available web applications and systems using industry standard languages and technologies such as TypeScript, React/React Native, NodeJS, C++, Docker, AWS, Kafka, Pulumi and GitHub Actions.
Technical guidance: Guide Jugo through the technicalities of releasing a product with seamless integrations and scalability across various devices and operating systems. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the development team, ensuring best practices are followed in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Feature Implementation: Lead the implementation of key features, ensuring compatibility with all product integrations.
Performance optimisation: Ensure smooth operation and high-quality performance of the product, specifically video and audio quality for low-latency environments.
Security implementation: Implement robust security measures, whilst adhering to industry standards and partner requirements.
Quality Assurance: Establish robust quality assurance processes, including code reviews, testing, and debugging (working closely with development and QA teams).
API development: Create and maintain APIs for third-party integrations and feature enhancements.
Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams and technology partners to ensure smooth integrations and product evolution.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues promptly.
Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for the integration process.
Lifecycle Management: Encompasses the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Required

10+ years of experience in engineering, with a focus on video conferencing technologies.
Proven track record of building and scaling SaaS platforms; preferably with prior experience integrating complex SaaS products with platforms such Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet.
Deep understanding of Zoom and Microsoft Teams SDKs and APIs, with hands-on experience integrating and customizing solutions using these platforms.
Knowledge of video encoding/decoding, especially with Nvidia GPUs.
Capable of handling both frontend and backend tasks.
Deep understanding and necessary skills to enhancing application performance, particularly for video/audio.
Strong technical expertise in video technologies, protocols (e.g., WebRTC), and APIs for real-time communication.
Knowledge of best practices and optimisation techniques.
Comprehensive understanding of delivering products that meet latest and relevant security standards.
Experience managing and scaling development teams, with a focus on agile methodologies and fast-paced product development cycles.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results, fostering an environment of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
Delivers a platform that meets industry standards for security, scalability, and performance.
Experience with immersive technologies, 3D rendering, or related tools (e.g., Unreal Engine, WebGL, or similar).
Strong knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and scalability challenges (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Be a strong leader, with a professional attitude and a lead by example work ethic.
Have the ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment.
Be credible, confident and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to deliver ideas clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

Preferred

Skilled in managing development budgets, forecasting, and optimizing resource allocation.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing tools to ensure high product quality.
Proven track record of identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implementing improvements in development processes.
