Responsibilities

Provide welding and fabrication solutions to Dow project teams including reviewing MOC's and RFV's.
Diagnose welding and fabrication related failures.
Act as Welding Subject Matter Expert for highly valuable capital projects.
Working knowledge of welding and fabrication related sections of international Code and Standards such as ASME and API.
Identify gaps in welding and fabrication Most Effective Technology (MET) and develop solutions and/or technology to close the gaps.
Support the implementation of discipline technology strategy and provide input/feedback on the strategy within their area of expertise.
Recognized outside Dow as an expert in this specific technology area.

Required

A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience (e.g. welding, fabrication, etc.)
Prior experience working in either a chemical plant facility or welding fabrication shop.
Willing and able to travel both domestically & internationally to support business need. Periods of heavy travel (up to 50%) may be possible depending on project workload.
Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
Ability Work in tight and closed spaces.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the country for which you are applying. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred

Preferred a bachelor’s degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering or Corrosion.
Preferred to have familiarity and some experience with the various Materials Engineering technology areas such as: failure analysis, inspection, NDE, coating and linings, glass linings, cathodic protection, process cleaning, insulation, refractories.
Preferred a Professional registration or certification such as the following to have PE, P. Eng., European Welding, or CEng in Metallurgical Engineering or Welding Engineer.
