Responsibilities

Providing guidance concerning statutes, codes, regulations, and policies such as the Administrative Procedures Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, and the Endangered Species Act.

Assisting with drafting regulatory documents, notices of funding opportunities for loan and grant awards, and responding to position papers, program briefings, legislative proposals, detailed project plans, or agency directives.

Performing research, presenting findings, and proposing alternatives for process improvement.

Preparing legal analysis, administrative records, or discovery responses.

Required

Must be a US Citizen or US National

Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt

Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check

Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served

Direct Deposit - Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education

For GS-12 Grade Level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level

For GS-13 Grade Level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level

Selective Placement Factor: Applicant is required to have extensive experience in writing federal or other governmental complex agency regulations, directives, and policy guidance which may require analyzing authorizing statutes, existing departmental policies and procedures, existing regulations, or other documentation
