Responsibilities
Work with project staff to oversee the operations, compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing of a 5.9 MGD Wastewater treatment plant.
Apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, water process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices.
Monitor, record and operate the water treatment process; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly.
Perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required.
Lead a small team of motivated and certified operators while also managing the project’s financials and safety performance.

Required
High school diploma or equivalent
California Wastewater Treatment Grade 4 Certification
Five years of progressive experience in wastewater treatment
Self-motivated with the ability work or support any of the small groundwater water treatment and distributions
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
Able to travel up to 25%
Valid CA State Driver’s License with no major infractions
Preferred
Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of water treatment and distribution operations; general equipment maintenance; effects and safe work practices
Fundamentals of preparing and executing budgets
Experience in compliance monitoring and reporting
Proficiency or knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems
Experience in utilizing CMMS Programs for preventive and corrective maintenance
Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate teams and to respond to emergency situations
