Responsibilities
Negotiating with borrowers and/or third parties to obtain satisfactory resolution in adversarial situations.
Conducting investigations and analyses in preparing a variety of servicing, collection, and liquidation actions.
Determining the financial responsibility of borrowers and/or guarantors following a detailed financial analysis.
Responding to demands for payoffs from escrow companies and research requests for reconveyance on previously paid loans to prepare documents.
Preparing releases for borrowers and notice of fully paid accounts where certified funds are received.
Responding in writing to a full range of inquiries from borrowers concerning residential and commercial loan servicing and liquidation to assist in the liquidation of delinquent loans.

Required
U.S. citizenship is required.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
Favorable background investigation and credit check are required.
You may be required to complete a one-year trial period.
Education: Major study - finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology.
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated competence in agricultural, commercial, realty, or other types of loans.
GS-09: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-07 level.
GS-11: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-09 level.
If qualifying based on education, you must submit transcripts to be eligible.
GS-09: Must have a master's or LL.B. or J.D. if related, or equivalent graduate degree in a related field or 2 full years of related progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
GS-11: Must have a doctorate or LL.M, or equivalent graduate degree in a related field, or 3 full years of related progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs.
Preferred
Recent graduates with a Master's Degree or Doctorate in a related field with no prior lending experience are encouraged to apply.
