Responsibilities

Own the implementation of technologies and strategies to prevent and detect claim fraud and abuse across a variety of post-purchase products, including product protection and shipping protection

Lead a team of machine learning data scientists to develop robust and intuitive machine learning models to identify fraudulent activity and actors

Closely partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to productionalize and optimize fraud detection and related models

Cultivate a culture of learning and collaboration within and across partner teams

Perform design and code reviews to raise the technical excellence bar

Hire, mentor and coach junior data scientists

Optimize and deploy machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation

Required

8+ years of work experience building and deploying machine learning systems into production

2+ years experience mentoring and managing ML teams

Proven track record building fraud detection or risk assessment tools

Solid understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, software design best practices, software development lifecycle and common machine learning design patterns

Expertise in Python/R, SQL; experience with TypeScript/JavaScript is a plus

Strong people leadership skills; ability to develop top machine learning talent and leaders

Excellent stakeholder management, with a track record of working cross-functionally to deliver results
