Act as the point of contact for network-related issues and communicate project status and critical issues with senior management and other stakeholders
Implement tools and processes to continuously monitor network performance, availability, and security. Use network performance monitoring (NPM) and network analytics platforms to gain visibility into traffic patterns, bottlenecks, and anomalies. Proactively identify issues before they impact users.
Lead the incident response process for network-related outages or performance degradations, ensuring rapid resolution of issues and thorough root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence. Establish escalation protocols for critical incidents and lead post-incident reviews.
Design and implement redundancy strategies such as failover mechanisms, load balancing, and multi-path routing to ensure high availability of critical network services. Ensure business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested for network recovery.
Continuously assess network capacity, usage trends, and future needs. Ensure the network infrastructure is capable of scaling to meet growth in traffic, user demand, and new application requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements for network architecture.
Work closely with IT Infrastructure teams to coordinate network requirements and solutions supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments
Stay abreast of the latest developments in networking technologies. Evaluate new technologies to determine their potential value to the organization, leading pilot programs and rolling out new solutions when appropriate.
Lead initiatives to automate routine network tasks such as provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and issue resolution. Leverage tools such as network orchestration platforms, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to drive operational efficiency.
Continuously review and refine network operations processes to improve efficiency and reliability. Develop and document best practices for network operations, and encourage a culture of innovation and improvement within the network engineering team
Establish and maintain relationships with service providers and technology vendors, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met. This includes managing contracts, support, and procurement
