Responsibilities

Develop innovative pet food products using formulation software such as Concept 5.

Lead and manage projects from concept ideation through commercialization and post-launch maintenance.

Coordinate and engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project objectives and deliverables.

Organize, lead, and support plant trials, including on-site travel as required.

Apply expertise in product development and pet food innovation to address and fulfill client needs.

Maintain accurate, organized, and timely project documentation.

Deliver exceptional client service while adhering to strict timelines and confidentiality protocols.

Collaborate across departments to support Product Innovation and other practices as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Product Innovation to support team success.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.

A minimum of 6 years in the pet food industry with expertise in formulating at least two different product forms.

Proficiency in formulation software (e.g., Concept 5, Format).

Solid understanding of pet food industry standards, including AAFCO, FEDIAF, FDA, ingredient functionality, palatability, processing, and regulatory compliance.

Strong foundation in nutrition calculations and conversions (e.g., kcal, kcal/serving, NFE).

Proven experience managing projects and supporting plant trials.

Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills.

Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving capabilities.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Adaptability and calmness under pressure in a fast-paced setting.

Proactive and self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Capable of providing and receiving feedback constructively to drive innovation and improvement.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
