Responsibilities

Drive initiatives across SRE teams to enhance infrastructure and product reliability.
Participate in planning and scoping exercises to align with business goals.
Represent WordPress products effectively in meetings and communications, taking strong ownership of their success.
Mentor and coach team members to foster technical and non-technical growth.
Part of on-call rotations, extending outside normal business hours. The manager is always the third on call, if the primary and secondary are not available. The manager will also share in an on-call rotation for incident command.
Partner with SysAdmin and Care teams to address operations holistically.
Work directly with end consumers (customers) when within the scope of our Pagely and enterprise offerings.

Required

Proven experience leading SRE teams in designing automation for systems and platforms.
Deep understanding of Web Hosting, Security, and WordPress.
Experience with building platforms on OpenStack, utilizing Terraform, Ansible, KVM, Ceph Storage, and networking concepts.
Proficient with Nomad, Docker, and containerization technologies.
Proficiency in Bash and Linux-based systems is a requirement.

Preferred

Experience with AWS platform development using CDK, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
Skilled in data visualization and time-series/log collection systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, Elastic, and Splunk.
Strong understanding of testing, automation, and CI/CD processes.
Proficiency in programming languages including Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and PHP is a plus.
Experience with Cilium and eBPF-based networking is a plus.
