Responsibilities
Support the creation of well-defined road maps that align data science projects with business needs, leading functional teams in the implementation and ongoing use of advanced machine learning software tools and functionalities, specifically in the field of recommender systems.
Support the performance and integration of advanced Machine Learning & Predictive analytics to promote understanding of different business areas or critical business challenges/opportunities.
Lead the implementation of data and analytics strategy by developing a data insights integration approach and process aligned to key business processes and decisions.
Support the ability of direct reports and the broader data science organization to create models or algorithms that identify patterns in structured and unstructured data. Manage data preparation (eg. Customer 360 data, clickstream data, inventory data) in collaboration with different stakeholders/internal clients in the business and ensure the collection of data in accordance with model standards.
Implement all aspects of data architecture, turning event analytics, raw application data, and business systems into key business insights.
Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
Support key elements of the enterprise data management system. May include development or management for feature stores that power data science models.
Interpret the business need and identify solution recommendations to business problems at a business unit level. Lead the improvement efforts that are within span of control at this level.
Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
Contribute to the development of budget plans and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior teammates.
Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Required
Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)
Preferred
Master’s Degree or Equivalent Level Preferred in quantitative fields like computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, economics etc.
Experience in the field of scalable retail recommender systems, deep learning methods, personalization methods (2+ years)
