Responsibilities
Proactively initiating relationships with owners of potential acquisitions (emails, phone calls, LinkedIn, trade shows, in-person meetings, etc.)
Maintaining existing relationships with owners of software businesses (emails, phone calls, LinkedIn, trade shows, in-person meetings, etc.)
Understanding and qualifying potential acquisition targets
Conducting industry research to identify and map out potentially attractive markets
Obtaining high-level financial and operational information and updating our proprietary Salesforce database
Presenting opportunities to the internal M&A committee

Required
Experience with business development, specifically cold-calling - ideally in software, insurance, wealth management sales, pharma, executive search or commercial real estate
Comfortable using Excel.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Advanced cold calling skills (“getting past the gatekeeper,” quick to establish rapport)
Ability to lead conversations off-script
Comfortable interacting with mature business owners and senior executives
Relationship builder (long “sales” cycle)
Works proactively, persistently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Able to quickly understand different business models/industries with associated benefits/risks
Qualify leads by piecing together high-level qualitative and quantitative information
Experiment with new approaches and measure results
Educational background in business with accounting and financial knowledge/interest
Preferred
Knowledge of Salesforce would be a plus.
