Responsibilities
Social Media Management : Assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing content across our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok) to engage followers and promote adoption, events, and fundraising campaigns.
Content Creation : Develop compelling content, including blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and website updates, to highlight success stories, shelter news, and upcoming events.
Graphic Design Support : Help design marketing materials such as flyers, posters, digital ads, and social media graphics using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Photography & Videography : Capture photos and videos of shelter animals, events, and behind-the-scenes activities for use in promotional content.
Email Marketing : Assist with the creation and distribution of email newsletters and donor updates using platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
Public Relations : Support efforts to secure media coverage by drafting press releases, reaching out to local news outlets, and maintaining a media contact database.
Community Outreach : Help plan and promote community events, adoption drives, and fundraising initiatives to increase shelter visibility.
Analytics & Reporting : Monitor social media analytics, website traffic, and email campaign performance to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Administrative Support : Perform general administrative tasks such as organizing marketing materials, updating contact lists, and responding to inquiries.

Required
Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Passion for animal welfare and alignment with Homeward Bound Pets Humane Society’s mission.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Experience with social media platforms and an understanding of content trends.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred
Basic graphic design skills; familiarity with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator is preferred.
Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is preferred.
