Responsibilities

Travel to customer locations nationwide to provide technical assistance in the development, formulation, and production of further-processed meat products (e.g., sausages, deli meats, value-added items).
Troubleshoot production issues, optimize processing techniques, and provide solutions to improve product quality, consistency, and yield.
Offer on-site training to customers and their teams on best practices, equipment usage, and new processing technologies.
Assist our sales team with customer presentations with the goal of selling more equipment.
Collaborate with customer R&D and product development teams to create new meat product formulations based on customer needs and market trends.
Test and validate new ingredients, processing methods, and technologies for commercial-scale production.
Ensure adherence to food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality control procedures during customer visits.
Conduct product quality assessments, including texture, flavor, appearance, and shelf-life stability.
Assist in troubleshooting quality-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in meat processing.
Provide feedback to the internal team regarding customer needs, challenges, and opportunities for product and process improvements.
Work closely with internal teams to develop customized solutions that meet specific customer requirements.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical solutions, and product performance.
Provide comprehensive reports and recommendations after each customer visit.
Document and track customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Animal Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in meat processing, product development, or technical services within the meat industry.
Knowledge of meat cutting, processing methods, and further processing technologies.
Experience with new product development or process optimization in further processed meat products.
Familiarity with industry certifications, such as HACCP, SQF, or GMP.
Ability to work with large-scale meat processing equipment and production lines.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role or as a technical service representative.

Preferred

Bi-Lingual in Spanish and / or German are a desired plus.
