Mechanical Design Engineer (Nuclear)

Responsibilities
Utilize inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to produce equipment and components design solutions.
Provide planning and schedule input for design activities.
Develop testing documentation.
Perform scoping analysis and calculations for design options.
Interface with the team’s engineering analysis activities.
Present equipment and components design results for design reviews.
Interface with junior engineers and subcontractors, providing direction and mentoring.
Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.

Required
Minimum of five years of equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. and Doctorate degrees may be credited for up to two and four years of experience.
Experienced in nuclear design
Experience with design of experiments with an emphasis on product testing
Experience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, first principles calculations, and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS
Familiarity in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Preferred
Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred
Experience with 3D CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
