Responsibilities

Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards and regulations.
Prepare and/or review engineering specifications, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of components, systems, and structures associated with the NSSS.
Possesses working knowledge of CAD packages.
Interprets scope and project requirements.
Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications.
Provides guidance and mentoring to other staff members in all areas of NSSS Component Design.
Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university is required.
A professional engineer (P.E.) certification is required.
Certifying Engineer experience to ASME BPVC Section III is required.
A minimum of 15 years of full-time relevant working experience is required.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience with engineering design, in the nuclear industry (i.e., ASME Section III).
Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Capable of developing strong interpersonal networks and trust within the organization.
Adheres to the NuScale Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior and influence peers to meet high standards.
Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1.
