Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing the application of mechanical systems that may include Automated Guided Vehicles for transporting carts throughout the facility, gravity-based chute systems for trash and linen removal, pneumatic systems for automated waste and linen removal, and Pneumatic Tube Systems for transporting small materials throughout the hospital.
You will analyze the flow of materials and information through healthcare facilities by applying a wide range of quantitative tools and models to identify opportunities for improvement.
You will conduct site visits, interviews, and observations to assess the client’s operation for improvement opportunities while working with all levels of the client organization from the front-line staff to the executive leadership.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert during the planning and design of mechanical systems, providing your expertise and guidance.
You will be a passionate problem-solver who puts the client's needs first and has a strong desire to make a lasting impact on their operations through your work.

Required

4+ years of job-related experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of experience in a hospital or medical facility environment, conducting cost analysis, layout design, or inventory analysis.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Commitment to continuous improvement

Preferred

Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
