Responsibilities

Inspection of test boring drilling activities and classification of soil and rock samples.
Preparation of boring logs for various projects.
Assisting in developing laboratory testing programs.
Conducting field reconnaissance.
Supporting project engineers in preparing soil reconnaissance reports.
Designing and analyzing shallow and deep foundation systems for structures.
Preparing Structure Foundation Reports and geotechnical analyses.
Working under the supervision of senior project engineers and geologists.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
2-5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or related field
Experience with field investigations including soil, water, and air sampling
Experience with drilling and subcontractor supervision
Ability to classify soil and rock samples retrieved during drilling
Experience in health and safety air monitoring
Preparation of technical reports
Ability to travel for field work

Preferred

Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience working with Department of Defense clients
Experience in construction oversight and/or remedial action oversight
Experience in design and analysis of foundation systems for structures
Experience in geotechnical stability evaluations
