Responsibilities

Installing, configuring and upgrading the MySQL database software and related tools.

Monitoring database and server performance to ensure KPIs and SLAs are being met.

Managing and monitoring security and access controls to the database.

Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to the database such as data corruption, replication issues, performance bottlenecks and security breaches.

Managing and monitoring database backups and disaster recovery procedures.

Collaborating with development and architect teams to design and implement new database structures, management, or automation capabilities.

Work closely with the App Ops and Architect teams to provide support for any ongoing projects/releases.

Participation in an On-Call rotation, and timely response to any critical incidents.

Chaos Test Design and execution.

Documentation creation/tuning and common process training (failover operations, restoration activities, Standard operating procedures, etc.)
