Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning
Research trending topics in naturopathy and natural health.
Collaborate with the Publisher and Ads team in weekly meetings to align content with industry trends and advertising.
Plan and maintain the editorial calendar using Monday.com for streamlined workflow.
Contributor Management
Identify and invite expert contributors on relevant topics, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
Oversee proposal submissions and review initial ideas to ensure alignment with editorial standards.
Maintain regular communication with contributors to keep content on schedule and meet quality expectations.
News Brief Writing & WordPress Posting
Write and post at least 5 concise, 200-word news briefs per week per imprint, covering the latest in naturopathy and natural health.
Ensure all briefs adhere to the publication's style, tone, and formatting standards on WordPress.
Content Editing, SEO, & Final Preparation
Edit articles for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
Collaborate with the Medical Editor to ensure scientific accuracy and content quality.
Apply SEO best practices to all content and prepare headlines, pull quotes, and tags before publication.
Social Media & Engagement Coordination
Work with the social media team to develop aligned posts, graphics, and article highlights for each issue.
Approve and schedule content and review engagement metrics to inform future improvements.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
Monitor monthly engagement metrics and refine content strategies accordingly.
Gather reader and contributor feedback post-issue to guide future editorial planning.

Required
5-12 years of experience as a Managing Editor
Strong background in writing, content management, and editorial processes
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Proven experience in editorial leadership, ideally within health or medical publishing
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with high attention to detail
Knowledge or background in naturopathy, natural health, or related fields
Proficiency in WordPress, SEO, and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Slack)
Ability to effectively lead and manage a remote editorial team
Strong time management skills
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field
Proven track record of managing successful editorial teams and projects
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
