Responsibilities
Provide leadership, technical oversight, planning, and coordination of data and voice projects.
Research and provide strategic direction on new technology and products.
Develop and maintain a hardware lifecycle replacement strategy.
Provide mentoring, professional development, and career advancement opportunities to direct reports.
Ensure direct reports are contributing and performing effectively.
Oversee the architecture of next-generation network design.

Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with an emphasis in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, or in a related field
6 - 10 years of related experience
Previous experience managing a logically complex network environment of a large physical scale
Experience working in IT in a higher education environment
Previous supervisory/managerial experience
Experience presenting complex technical material
Past experience building and maintaining teams, including active participation in the hiring processes and writing performance reviews
Advanced knowledge of professional communications and network systems in the completion of diverse assignments
Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility
Advanced knowledge of the practices and techniques of the voice and data field and the ability to determine a course of action based on guidelines
In-depth, advanced understanding of various network hardware platforms, network related protocols and software
Thorough knowledge and experience working with network management systems
Requires the ability to gather, organize, and prioritize work assignments, with limited guidance
Requires technical knowledge and skills associated with voice and data network systems
Must be able to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrated skill in managing technical staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred
Demonstrated skill in developing long-range plans and budgets for Network future state and proven skills in the management of multiple and overlapping short and long term projects
Proven skillset in motivating and leading staff and providing direction for their professional growth and development in order to meet their career objectives
Demonstrated skill in developing and presenting business cases for strategic infrastructure changes and improvements to include hardware lifecycle replacement as well as evaluating projects, establishing priorities and communicating timelines for deployment of solutions
