Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pitch engaging news stories to attract and retain our online readers.
Produce 2-5 news stories of 400-600 words a day.
Contact relevant news sources, including PR representatives, law enforcement, and attorneys, as needed.
Write clearly and concisely
Perform under tight deadlines
Strong proficiency in AP Style guidelines and digital content best practices.

Required
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in news writing for digital or print media.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Strong desire to be first to report something
Solid news judgment and excellent journalism ethics
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Strong proficiency in AP Style guidelines and digital content best practices.
Preferred
Experience with video storytelling a plus
