Responsibilities
Be a primary point of contact as a subject matter expert assisting the sales force in structuring eligible loans with the Company’s third-party originators.
Interpret and provide appropriate loan solutions for Non-QM/Non-Agency loan requests.
Analyze the borrower’s credit file, collateral, and capacity to ensure creditworthiness.
Perform manual underwriting review to ensure the loan meets all product and property guidelines of the Company and investors and is compliant with corporate and secondary market investor standards.
Underwrite Non-Agency/non-QM wholesale/broker loans in a timely manner to ensure they meet the company and investors' product and property guidelines and all established loan policies, credit limits, and regulatory requirements.
Clear loan conditions in a timely manner; affirm data integrity on all submissions.
Identify potential misrepresentation or fraud.
Keep up-to-date with all guideline changes and system enhancements.
Adhere to general work requirements.
Work with internal and external partners to clear conditions in a timely manner.
Make moderately complex loan decisions based on the borrower's overall worthiness, layering of risk, and all program requirements, and issue loan approvals, suspensions, counteroffers, or denials.
Identify quality concerns and red flags and validate the accuracy of the risk associated with the borrower or property/collateral profile.
Communicate decisions (written and verbal) to all parties (specifically brokers and sales partners as appropriate) and build relationships with internal and external partners.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
3-5 years underwriting Non-QM loans, including DSCR, bank statement & P&L loans, Foreign Nationals, and ITIN loan programs.
Manual DTI calculations, including full doc loans.
Experience with Meridian Link/Lending QB.
Strong analytical skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
