Responsibilities
Assist with castings and fittings on patients.
Prep cast for fabrication.
Proficiently carry out tasks of filling, pulling plastic, vacuum form, and modifications.
Assist with mold storage and disposal of old molds.
Quality checks on materials, required procedures, and completed work.
Ensures satisfactory cosmetic appearance, joint alignment, and appropriateness of trim lines of orthotic/prosthetic devices as per the practitioner and patient's expectations.
Selects componentry and materials that are appropriate for the patient's height, weight, and activity level.
Ensure accurate measurement and assessment of patients to create custom-fitted devices.
Test device for freedom of movement, alignment of parts, and stability.
Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving fabrication-related issues.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations, such as utilizing appropriate PPE.

Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in a Prosthetics or Orthotics position or related field.
Understanding of orthotic and prosthetic build process.
Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses and orthoses according to specifications
Must be comfortable with operating a cast saw and Trautman grinder.
High attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred
ABC Registered Technician Orthotics and Prosthetics preferred.
